Volendam striker Robert Mühren has extended his contract by one year. The 34-year-old footballer will also play a role as an ambassador for Voetbal Volendam, the joint youth academy of FC Volendam and RKAV Volendam.
Mühren has played almost 200 matches for FC Volendam and managed to score 92 times. He started playing football at RKAV Volendam and subsequently played for FC Volendam, AZ, Zulte Waregem and SC Cambuur, among others. He returned to FC Volendam in 2022. This season he managed to score five times for the Volendam team. Mühren will continue with football for at least one more season and then he will become an ambassador of Voetbal Volendam.
Volendam left for Turkey today for a training camp. “We are very happy that a club icon like Robert wants to help us in the long term with further building Voetbal Volendam,” said D.director Frans ten Berge on the website of the Volendammers.
