FC Volendam goalkeeper Filip Stankovic has been in top form in recent weeks. The Inter mercenary kept his team going against Roda JC and stopped an important penalty against Jong AZ. The youth international of Serbia does not get his football talent from a stranger. Father Dejan played more than three hundred games for Inter and won the Champions League with the Italian superpower in 2010.
“My father knows more than I do. He watches all my matches. He knows a lot about the competition,” said Stankovic about his father’s involvement. Filip was born in Italy when his father played for Lazio Roma and later went through the entire youth academy of Inter.
“If we get promoted, I want to join FC Volendam in the Eredivisie”
Stankovic is now indispensable under the bar at FC Volendam and together with his teammates he is aiming for promotion. “It is not up to me. Ultimately, the clubs decide. But if we are promoted, I would like to enter the Eredivisie with FC Volendam,” said the mercenary of Inter, who is very much at home in the fishing village.

Stankovic has been in excellent form in recent weeks, but the goalkeeper has not yet forgotten his difficult home debut against ADO Den Haag.
