The National Center for Disaster Prevention (Cenapred) of Mexico has launched a “phase two” alert for the activity recorded by the Popocatépetl volcanowhose ash emissions could affect Mexico City.
National Civil Protection Coordination (CNPC) has alerted the population of what to do in case the forecasts come true and the fall of volcanic ash affects practically all the departments of the Mexican capital. Similarly, he has asked not to approach the volcano.

The alert for ash emissions from Popocatépetl comes a day after the magnitude 7.6 earthquake that shook central Mexico on Monday afternoon, leaving two people dead.
