Voices from FC Bayern, BVB, VfB Stuttgart, Hertha BSC and Co.

With an impressive offensive performance, FC Bayern Munich has temporarily shot up to the top of the table in the Bundesliga. Head coach Julian Nagelsmann was more than satisfied afterwards. Just like interim coach Michael Wimmer from VfB Stuttgart, who celebrated a last-minute win with his team. Eintracht Frankfurt’s Oliver Glasner was disappointed with the defeat against BVB. The voices:

Oliver Glasner (Eintracht Frankfurt coach): “We have to blame ourselves. We missed too many chances, especially in the second half. We didn’t show the necessary calm at the end. It was a bitter defeat. I’m disappointed with the result, but happy with the performance.”

Edin Terzic (Borussia Dortmund coach): “We’re very happy with the win. It wasn’t a really good game, it was a tough fight. Not many teams will win here. It was a lucky win, but it was awesome.”

Julian Nagelsmann (Bayern Munich coach): “A big compliment, what the team is tearing down every three days. It’s a lot of fun to watch, it’s a mixture of quality and attitude. Biggest compliment, that’s exceptionally straight.”

Bo Svensson (coach FSV Mainz 05): “Congratulations to Julian and FC Bayern on a well-deserved victory. I think we did quite well in the first half. We didn’t do well in the second half . Everything was missing. It wasn’t a good attitude in the second half, I didn’t like that.”

Niko Kovac (VfL Wolfsburg coach): “We put in a mature performance and played really good football. The interaction worked extremely well, only the conversion of chances could have been better. You can now speak of a golden October for us, so it may continue in November.”

Thomas Letsch (VfL Bochum coach): “We didn’t stand a chance and we were still well off with four goals conceded. The two teams were worlds apart. After such a one-sided game you’re obviously disappointed. It’s going to be difficult to stay in the league in this condition.”

Michael Wimmer (coach VfB Stuttgart): “We started the game incredibly badly. We had big plans, wanted to be aggressive and still we got the 1-0 after five minutes. The 1-1 at half-time was deserved. After the break “We don’t get any access at all again, Augsburg was clearly better in this phase. From the 65th onwards we played really well and created a lot of chances to score. So in the end it was a deserved win for us.”

Enrico Maaßen (FC Augsburg coach): “I think we started the game very well. I found that we were the more active team at the end of the first half and also came out of the dressing room very well. There is one key scene: That’s the situation that unfortunately didn’t lead to a penalty for us. We couldn’t capture the momentum that unleashed the stadium and the Stuttgart team afterwards.”

Marco Rose (RB Leipzig coach): “We are very happy with the result. I don’t think it was a playful treat overall today. That wasn’t to be expected either, because both teams have a tight program, but both have the fight on their own kind of accepted and made an intense game out of it.”

Xabi Alonso (Bayer Leverkusen coach): “The second half was different. We didn’t have that many chances, but I felt we had to keep going to have those chances. However, we know how good Leipzig are, we need them just one mistake from us to get the second goal. After that it was very, very difficult.”

Ole Werner (SV Werder Bremen coach)

… about the game: “It went well for us. Friday night, full hut and great atmosphere. It was a very close game and in the end centimeters decided. Both teams were on an equal footing, with the better end for us. It was a very grown-up performance because we defended well. The key on the defensive end was that we protected well. All in all, it wasn’t undeserved.”

… on Bremen’s many goals in the closing stages: “We often score in the closing stages this season. It’s worth staying and not leaving too early. If you score more often in the closing stages, you have this belief, always on to be able to meet at the end.”

Sandro Schwarz (Coach Hertha BSC) …

… about the game: “It was an emotional game and it’s very unfortunate that we’re losing this game. We’ve had countless situations in which we could have created chances to score, so the defeat is very bitter.”

… on the referee’s performance: “The net playing time was very little today. There was little flow of the game and many yellow cards. Then comes the situation with Mitchell Weiser and that’s yellow-red if you have such a game. But that’s no excuse and shouldn’t be misunderstood. If you have that referee, it has to be a ten-a-side game from the 65th minute.”
