OUR OPINION. Does Europe have a plan for the war in Ukraine?
Putin said on Thursday that everything is “going according to plan”. A message that is scorned in the West. We delight in every Russian tank captured, every soldier who capitulates, and every rich Russian whose superyacht is confiscated. But if Putin’s plan occasionally falters, we must first ask ourselves whether we have a plan at all. In this terrible game of chess, Europe urgently needs to think more moves ahead. If we don’t want to intervene militarily, what is our plan?
