VKW stronger in the saddle after victory at GOMOS

FOOTBALL – VKW from Westerbork has strengthened its lead in the 1st division F with a 1-2 victory over GOMOS. Close competitor Hoogezand did win 5-0 against SVBO from Barger-Oosterveld. Roden and Germanicus played against each other today and there the pot ended in a draw in 1-1.

VKW had to chase after GOMOS player Ivo Drenth opened the score in Norg. Jeroen Welles equalized just before half time and in the second half Robert Veen took the victory. As a result, VKW has 28 points from 13 matches and with that the gap with Hoogezand, who is second, is now 2 points (although Hoogezand has played one game less). GOMOS is sixth with 18 points.

Hoogezand himself had no child from SVBO today. The team from Barger-Oosterveld scored five goals, but remains seventh in the standings despite the defeat.

The number three Germanicus did not get further than a 1-1 draw in the Drenthe meeting against Roden. Olivier van der Tuin even gave Roden the lead in the 1st half. Jessie Rotmensen evened the score in the second half and ensured that Germanicus was still allowed to add a point. With 23 points from 13 games, the team from Coevorden is still third. Roden is in ninth place with 15 points.
