Vjerka Serdjutška, one of Ukraine’s biggest Eurovision legends, has sent her greetings to Russia by performing an unforgettable Dancing Lasha Tumbai -with changed words of his song.
Serdyuchka sang Dancing Lasha Tumbai -song memorably at the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki. The song, which turned out to be a real earworm, reached second place at the time.
At a concert organized in honor of Ukraine’s National Day (August 24), Serdjutška set off a raucous folk celebration when she performed this folk classic, which is obviously loved by Ukrainians.
However, instead of “Lasha tumbai”, Serdjutška, the background singers and the children’s choir sang “Russia goodbye” in English. The message could not have been clearer in the middle of a six-month war.

It’s not entirely a coincidence. It has been suspected that Serdyutschka chose the Lasha tumbai lyrics in the first place because phonetically “lasha tumbai” resembles “Russia goodbye”. In reality, Lasha tumbai means nothing.
Serdjučka has previously made his opinion about Russia known. Two days after the start of Russia’s illegal war of aggression, he posted a picture on his Instagram account showing him and his colleague the middle finger.
– Off! Off! Off! at that time, he wrote in the accompanying text of the picture, in which he also stated that the truth cannot be overcome by falsehood.
