Vives has a hydrogen research center in Kortrijk
They will also share their experiences with companies. They often do not have the time or money for research into alternative fuels, but now that prices are rising, that is becoming increasingly important.
“We use the entire setup, i.e. the electrolysis, the engines, the fuel cells, to bring the knowledge about this to companies and to accelerate the transition. Companies have to get started very quickly with these new technologies,” says Sam Schotte, researcher at Vives.
The energy for this installation comes from the solar panels on the roof. Then they extract the particles from here that they can use to produce hydrogen.
