The violations are serious! The corporate supervisory board of the state-owned Vivantes Clinic therefore wants to file a criminal complaint. Due to irregularities in numerous construction contracts of a subsidiary.
“Among other things, this is about a noticeable accumulation of construction contracts to certain companies and violations of public procurement law,” said Finance Senator Stefan Evers (44, CDU) on Tuesday after a special meeting of the Vivantes supervisory board.
“There are said to have been personal connections between individual planning offices and employees of the facility management and construction department at Vivantes Service GmbH.”
The allegations had already become known in August 2022 through anonymous tips. The supervisory board immediately commissioned a law firm to investigate the events.
The irregularities concern procurement law, compliance, “and there are criminal suspicions,” said the chairman of the committee, Eckhard Nagel, after the meeting. The supervisory board therefore unanimously decided to “file criminal charges for all possible offenses”.
Nagel said that “no serious information can currently be given” about the amount of damage caused by excessive construction prices.
