The 2023 Eurovision host city has been decided after a long search.
Next year’s singing competition will be held in Liverpool.
The Eurovision Song Contest is held at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, which can hold 11,000 spectators. The arena is located in the city of Liverpool along the Mersey River.
The program’s three programs are broadcast on different days.
- The first semifinal is on Tuesday, May 9.
- The second semi-final is on Thursday, May 11
- Final on Saturday, May 13
The last time the competition was held in the United Kingdom was 25 years ago.
The decision was tense on Eurovision’s social media channels, as the city was decided between Glasgow and Liverpool.

The decision has given stability to the upcoming singing competition, because after the Ukrainian Kalush Orchestra won, there has been uncertainty in the organization of the songs. Due to the war, Eurovision cannot be held in the winning country according to tradition.
The replacement organizing country was confirmed in July, when the European Broadcasting Union EBU announced that Britain will organize the 2023 competition. However, the problem was where in the British city the visas are organized.
For practical reasons, the decision took until the autumn, as Eurovision required a large arena and its use already several weeks before the official competition. Several arenas in the country were already booked with different performances, which caused organizational challenges.
In the end, seven cities were nominated, of which the organizing city was chosen between Glasgow in Scotland and Liverpool in England.
