VITRINE PERPLX programs eight circus performances in Kortrijk

This gives young artists the opportunity to build an audience. Bert Berg from Menen created a very special performance with 500 mousetraps. He thus opened the festival. It moves with extreme precision in the middle of the danger zone. But mousetraps snap shut unexpectedly. That is the surprising performance of a young circus artist from Menen.

The intention is indeed to paint a picture of someone who has a universe, where the dimensions of his body and the dimensions of the universe are aligned. And the cool thing is that this really is a home, a city, a world he has always lived in. But as you can see in the performance, but perhaps not on the screen, something is happening. And if something happens, those critters are very unpredictable. And when those unpredictable things do, I have to adapt,” says Bert Berg.

This weekend Perplx organizes creations by young, starting circus makers from France, Sweden and Chile, among others.

Perplx is one of the circus workshops in Flanders where young, creative makers can do what they are good at. And that creativity is supported by Flanders, but circus is an international event.

Funds are also provided to propagate our circus in Great Britain, which has become a difficult task due to Brexit.
