Vitesse’63 beats the competition and is on course for the walking football title

By winning all three matches during the fourth round of the football competition for OldStars, Vitesse ’63 established itself firmly at the top of the ranking. At sports park Woltingeslag in Zuidwolde, the team from Koekange won from Dedemsvaart, IJVV (IJsselmuiden) and FC Meppel.

Vitesse ’63 has collected 30 points so far. It is five points ahead of Steenwijk and HZVV with 25 each. HZVV also had a great day by winning twice against Steenwijk and Sport Vereent and playing a draw against IJVV. FC Meppel also took the necessary points thanks to victories over Zuidwolde and Dedemsvaart.

Important players

In the 12 games played of 20 minutes each, two more things stood out. First of all, the 16-0 defeat that Dedemsvaart suffered against Steenwijk, where the loser could report that it missed three important players as a reason, there was also the first victory for red lantern carrier Zuidwolde that treated the Frisians of SportVereent from Oldeberkoop to a 1-0 defeat and passed Dedemsvaart due to a better goal difference. At Sport Vereent, the fifth and last round of this so far successful OldStars competition will be played on March 24.

The score: 1. Vitesse ’63 (30), 2. Steenwijk (25), 3. HZVV (25), 4. YVV (21), 5. FC Meppel (16), 6. Sport Vereent (13), 7 Zuidwolde (4) and 8. Dedemsvaart (4).
