The Mole seekers are already one certainty richer: after the sudden departure of Mol Philippe, Bert Van Tichelen did not receive the message that he was allowed to play the new Mol. And after the classically soothing visit from friends and family, he apparently had too little knowledge about the new Mol. He was already at the bottom of our Mole list before the start of this episode. And so got a red thumb at the end of episode 5. Exit the sympathetic arborist who may have felt the downpour before. In the paintball story he wanted to go for exemptions, but was knocked out by a suddenly aggressive playing Manu. The pass questions he had in his pocket went to the receptionist from Genk.

The game itself fell right into its fold at the restart. There was no sign of any mourning for Philippe’s departure. ‘The games must go on’, namely. During the briefing of the new Mol, we learned that he knew very well what all candidates look at as suspicious Mole behaviour. And that he or she would mislead them. After which it became clear that the new Mole had a real assistant on the classic ‘family day’ to sabotage. Which is exactly what happened during the water game. Tubes with a monetary value were exchanged, dropped into the water. Sliding smoothly or not on the water track. The group needed 23 attempts to form a four-letter word. Three quarters of the possible profit was lost. That’s called perfectly molded. Possible suspects? Yens, who again did not take the lead so successfully, and his girlfriend Marie-Sophie who brought a lot of tubes, but did not make much money. Manu with friend Clemens did what she always did right: mess. Like opening the tube with a value of 500 euros. Doing that openly is of course a stupid Molactie. Uma then again ruined the game on the slide…

Halfway through the episode it may have become clear how the forces and powers lie within the group. Emanuelle was not suspected by anyone. Followed by Anke and Uma. So three ladies. Bert was the first man, in fourth place, followed by Yens. At the very bottom: Sven. Strange, but true, the chance that he really is the Mol is suddenly a bit smaller. After all, all candidates play their own game.

And then it was all Manu time. She was given a particularly strategic place in the paintball game and could and was allowed to decide about winning the group spot or exemptions. No fumbling or fiddling this time, but hard, rather unsympathetic, but a perfect game. She stole the exemptions that Sven, Bert and Uma had obtained and also put another 2,000 euros in the group pot. Money that Anke, who always played attentively, had earned.

The ‘partners’ of the six candidates were allowed to tell whether they had played together with De Mol. Bert’s girlfriend, Uma and Yens said clearly and formally ‘no’. Manu’s husband remained vague and talked about ‘difficult to estimate’. Very strange, because if Manu is the Mol, then he has counted. Sven’s brother also remained vague and talked about ‘could be a good Mole’, while Anke’s partner believed that the detective could be 100 percent De Mol. To be clear: all information that a real Molloot cannot handle. Because as a partner of ‘De Mol’ who was drawn into the game for the first time, you will naturally deny your behaviour. And you can and may lie.
