Visitor record and lion cubs for Safari Park Beekse Bergen

Safari park Beekse Bergen in Hilvarenbeek received a record number of visitors last year: 1.3 million. The previous record dated from 2022, when the safari park attracted 1.2 million visitors. Beekse Bergen Speelland attracted 211,773 visitors in 2023. “We are also very happy with this,” a spokeswoman said.

Safari park Beekse Bergen welcomed its millionth visitor at the end of September. “Never before have we been able to welcome the millionth guest so early in the year,” says manager Rens Willemsen of the safari park. “It was therefore clear quite quickly that we would break the record of 2022.”

Hotel
The number of 1.3 million visitors includes all overnight guests. Overnight stays have been possible since April 2023 in the Safari Hotel that opened then. Additional visitors also came to the so-called Light Safari. Rens: “We wanted this event to be a source of light in the dark days and we succeeded well.”

Four healthy lion cubs
In addition to the visitor record, there was also good news about the animals in 2023. A number of special animals were born in the 55-year-old safari park. “For the first time in six years, four healthy lion cubs were born here. Special, because 55 years ago Beekse Bergen started as a Lion Park.”

In the spring, news broke that three elephants were pregnant. The first two calves were born at the end of 2023. The third calf could be born at any moment.
