Visit to the “hood” of arrest warrant

Offenbach is steep. For a change, not out of admiration for local hip-hop greats such as Haftzettel – two older American men were cheered on yesterday, Wednesday.

The British guitar maestro Jeff Beck (78) played together with Johnny Depp (59) in the local town hall, the first of only two tour dates in Germany. On Monday, July 11th, the illustrious rocker team can be seen in Prague before heading to the Tollwood Festival in Munich-Freimann on July 13th.

The local press speaks of “completely enthusiastic fans” who were able to admire a longer instrumental part of the still agile Beck at the concert. As with his shows in the UK shortly after the verdict in Amber Heard’s defamation trial, Depp came on stage as a “surprise guest”. What made for a spectacular WOW moment in the UK was already priced in here.

Beck was the microphone man and presented various covers, including John Lennon’s “Isolation” and the new wave hit “Death And Resurrection Show” by Killing Joke. He showcased his own singer/songwriter skills with the emo-leaning “This Is A Song For Miss Hedy Lamarr.” A Hollywood actor who sings about a legendary Hollywood great of bygone eras.

Anyone who doesn’t make it to the concert in Munich can then access the Beck Depp album entitled “18” on July 15th. In all probability an opus with rock solid rock music.
