Violent incident in the CAF Cup

Violent incident in African football: After the final whistle of a quarter-final second leg in the CAF Confederation Cup, the Tunisian referee Sadeq al Salmi was physically attacked by a manager of the Egyptian club Al Masry.

Al Masry had previously lost the game at Moroccan representatives Renaissance Berkane 0-1 (0-1) and thus missed the semi-finals in the African counterpart to the Europa League.

During the game, several Al Masry team members had repeatedly complained about the referee’s decisions. After the final whistle, al Salmi showed two guest players the red card. Immediately afterwards, the supervisor slapped the referee in the face and kicked him until security forces intervened.
