Peter helped tens of thousands of children with a swimming certificate: ‘I have become a well-known Apeldoorner’
When he walks through the center of Apeldoorn, he has to ‘say hello very often’. In a restaurant, the greeting ‘hey lifeguard’ is never far away. Peter van Amerongen (67) has given swimming lessons to tens of thousands of Apeldoorn residents in fifty years. Now he says goodbye. “I have become a well-known Apeldoorner.”
