Vinted takes over Danish second-hand marketplace Trendsales

Lithuanian e-commerce specialist Vinted UAB has expanded its presence in Scandinavia with an acquisition.

On Tuesday, the group announced that it had taken over the Danish online marketplace Trendsales, which specializes in second-hand fashion. Details of the transaction were not disclosed. Last fall, Vinted expanded its own platform to Denmark and Finland. The company has been represented in Sweden since 2022.

According to the new owner, Trendsales is now the second largest online marketplace for fashion and lifestyle items in Denmark. “By combining Vinted’s size and expertise with Trendsales’ regional knowledge and strong presence in Denmark, the combined company can achieve significant synergies and create new opportunities from which Danish customers will benefit,” the group said.

In recent years, the second-hand marketplace operator, which was founded in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius in 2008, has advanced its international expansion several times through acquisitions. Vinted acquired the German competitor Rebelle in 2022 and recently integrated its activities into its own platform.
