The Dutch parcel delivery company Homerr is being taken over by Vinted Go, the shipping division of the second-hand platform Vinted and a subsidiary of the Vinted Group. It was agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
Homerr was founded in the Netherlands in 2016 and currently has a network of social and commercial pickup and drop-off points. This means that customers in the Benelux region can simply drop off their goods at these locations or have them delivered.
Vinted Go’s acquisition of Homerr will allow Vinted Go to build a larger network of pickup and drop-off locations. In fact, the group is already in the process of setting up such points in France. In a press release on Thursday, it was emphasized that Homerr will continue to operate as before and that founders Juriaan Matthijsen and Mark-Jan Pieterse will also remain with the company. However, the two will assume senior roles in the new, combined organization.
“We have been working with Vinted Go for some time. We see a great opportunity in deepening our partnership to continue to grow in the development of innovative new delivery solutions with a lower impact on the climate,” said Juriaan Matthijssen and Mark-Jan Pieterse, the founders of Homerr. “Joining our forces, the “Combining our expertise and operational knowledge with Vinted’s scale enables further innovation. We look forward to expanding our network and delivery service together to further improve our customers’ and partners’ experiences.”
