Cycling giant Tadej Pogacar takes a course for his fourth overall victory at the Tour de France. Rival Jonas Vingegaard does not yet give up in the race for the yellow jersey.

Jonas Vingegaard is already 4:13 minutes behind the overall leading Tadej Pogacar at the Tour de France 2025 after 15 out of 21 stages.

“I still think that I can win. Of course it looks very hard. It is a big distance,” the Danish cycling star continued to present himself on the second day of rest of the France tour.

“If you no longer believe in it, it won’t happen,” is Vingegaard’s motto.

At the same time, the 28-year-old had to admit with a view to his great rival Pogacar: “To be honest, he makes a very strong impression.”

Vingegaard: “We have to attack”

The Tour de France heads for the 16th stage on Tuesday (from 12:10 p.m. in sport.de-Live ticker) to the next showdown. From Montpellier it goes to Mont Ventoux. In the following days, the cycling stars also have to work in the Alps.

Vingegaard sees itself prepared. “Normally my strength lies in the third week,” the two-time tour winner looked ahead of the exhausting stages. “I mean we have to attack. Let’s be honest. We are more than four minutes back,” said the Visma driver.

Pogacar has so far hardly any weaknesses at this year’s Tour de France. Even his fall on the eleventh stage did not get the Slovenian superstar out of kick.

The 26-year-old has the best chance of celebrating his fourth triumph at the Tour de France after 2020, 2021 and 2024. Vingegaard will throw everything into the balance again in the coming days. The last word in the race for the yellow jersey has not yet been spoken.
