The National Football Team was the guest of Croatia in the 6th match of the 2024 European Football Championship Qualifiers Group D.
The Crescent and Stars team defeated their strong opponent 1-0 with the goal of Barış Alper Yılmaz.
Coach Vincenzo Montella, who won his first match with the National Team, spoke after the match.

I would like to thank the National Team family. Our unity brought victory. We all became one.
Actually, we had a very difficult match. Croatia had not lost at home in the European Qualifiers. This is the first time we beat them on Croatian soil. We had a football community that carried the spirit of the whole country on the field. We have a group of football players who are hungry to learn. We are very lucky in this regard. We need to continue this.
Before the match, I said that we would use Barış’s speed, and that their two defenders would not be able to keep up. Thank God he came across such a position.
We are happy, we will celebrate this. But we have another match in 3 days. We need to save all the celebrations for after that match. “We have a match in 3 days. So let’s postpone the celebrations.
