On Sunday evening, March 13, the thirteenth Humo’s Comedy Cup was awarded in De Arenbergschouwburg in Antwerp. Vincent Voeten (34) won the final ahead of Charles Le Riche (30) and Jade Mintjens (23). “A very nice winner”, was the conclusion of the jury. “Rarely has the choice been more difficult.” About a hundred stand-up comedians were registered for Humo’s Comedy Cup, who had to prove themselves in various preliminary rounds.
Humo’s Comedy Cup is the benchmark for new, humorous talent. A podium finish in this competition has already opened the doors to the big stages on more than one occasion. Vincent Voeten is the successor of Amelie Albrecht. Previous winners include Jens Dendoncker, William Boeva, Bart Cannaerts, Gunter Lamoot and Lukas Lelie. The first edition of Humo’s Comedy Cup took place in 1998.
