Vincent Kortbeek from Vught new technical director Athletics Union

Vincent Kortbeek from Vught is the new technical director of the Athletics Union. The 39-year-old former athlete and bobsledder is happy with his new job and is looking forward to it. “I am well acquainted with the laws of top sport and can help to improve on the strong foundation that Dutch athletics has.”

Vincent Kortbeek is still working at the Talent Academy Group. Before that he was technical director of the Bob- en Sleebond Nederland. Kortbeek sees a strong basis in Dutch athletics and sees clear added value for itself.

“That top sports mentality, together with my experience in management and coaching in sports, ensure that I can make an important contribution.”

Bobsleigh and hurdles
In 2006 Kortbeek took part in the Olympic Games as a bobsleigher. In 2009 the qualification for the Games failed and he retired. In 2010 he became Dutch Champion in the 400 meters hurdles.

Kortbeek starts on November 1 at the Athletics Union. He is the successor of Ad Roskam.
