Vince Clarke announces first solo album

After Depeche Mode, Erasure and Yazoo, Vince Clark releases his first solo work SONGS OF SILENCE.

Vince Clarke’s first solo album SONGS OF SILENCE will be released on November 17th. The co-founder of Depeche Mode, Erasure and Yazoo offers a foretaste of his debut record with his single “The Lamentations of Jeremiah”. The accompanying music video was produced and directed by portrait photographer Ebru Yildiz. The black and white images support the dramatic cello tones of the composer Reed Hays.

The musician’s debut album was created during lockdown times in his home studio in New York. Vince Clarke used the idle time to familiarize himself with Eurorack modules, a modular synthesizer format. “I could have gone on forever,” explains Clarke in the current press release. “I enjoyed the process so much and didn’t think about anyone else hearing it. But hearing how things are developing in my studio, in my head, learning new tricks – that was the best thing about the whole thing,” the musician is happy about his solo debut.
