Vimpelin Veto advanced to the Superpesis final by defeating Joensuu Maila 3–0.

The decisive match at Saarikent ended 2–0 (5–4, 8–1).

Vimpelin Veto’s fierce home team spoke a destructive language at Saarikenta, as the team’s joker cannons Janne Mäkelä and Jukka-Pekka Vainionpää scored five runs each. Mäkelä summed up his success familiarly with a small twinkle in the corner of his eye.

– Isn’t it exactly my job to hit those runs? In terms of training, it has been going with the same formulas as it has been for decades.

– Considering the series of games, we had a good rhythm from the beginning, we played a good inside game. The team is also mentally very strong, there is a good feeling on top.

When asked what will happen to Mäkelä’s lush beard after the season, he had a clear answer.

– The beard is not going anywhere, I now have a fly fisherman’s beard ready.

Joensuu’s game director Mikko Huotari was really disappointed. At the same time, he gave Vedo a lot of praise.

– We did a huge amount of work before the season. It’s unnecessary now, we move aside. You could even go here to pick grapes.

– At the same time, I feel great respect for Veto, sincere congratulations to them. I’ve never experienced or even seen the kind of stampede we got into. We have a lot to learn from Veto’s departure, Huotari continued.

Bet game manager Tomi Niskanen was satisfied.

– We started well, taking the lead. The guy came alongside it again, but again credit to the team that we made the necessary extra run. The second episode was quite clear.
