Vilma Nissinen puts everything new from home: “Spiritually I am pretty much over”

Vilma Nissinen suspects that she has suffered from a corona.

National team skier Vilma Nissisen, 24, the season 2021–22 has been a path of suffering. He plans to put everything new on the next snow.

– The place of residence is likely to change. You cannot hack the head on the same wall that the pair has been hacked through. I have lived in Vuokatti for ten years, so it is not a shame to be there anymore. That card has been viewed. I miss the change and the fact that the environment is changing, Nissinen says.

He is planning to move to southern Finland. Also coaching relationship Mikko Virtanen with may end.

– After May Day, when the new season begins, you need to know who the programs are coming from and where the base is.

This season, Nissinen has only entered Ruka and Lahti in the World Cup. There are no points in the race. Admittedly, he was named Tour de Skille, but a roommate Eveliina Piipon Korona also put Nissinen aside.

– The health has not been such that you have been able to practice fully. It’s stalled. It is not uplifting when the body does not work.

The best place in the Scandinavian Cup, or World Cup B, is seventh place in the Beitostölen sprint. On a normal trip, he was at his fourteenth at best.

– I got sick in January and since. Quite a lot of leveling has been given, Nissinen says.

– There are problems with the nervous system and recovery. One loop a day but can pull. One race can be pulled, but then when you pull a pair in a row, you dive pretty deep. There was probably a corona, but it didn’t show up in the tests, he continues.

Studying helped

The 2020-21 season was also difficult. Nissinen fell ill but recovered at the World Championships in Oberstdorf, finishing 22nd and 29th. He counts them as the only “reasonable” performance in two seasons.

– Mentally, I’m pretty out of stock. There is no energy for extra, he sighs.

– Changes need to be made. The process is underway to change. But a lot needs to change, Nissinen continues.

The skier is studying to become a business economist at Kajaani University of Applied Sciences. He is ready for three and a half courses and a thesis.

– It would be quite anxious if there was no study. Has been able to focus on something other than sports. There has also been support from related parties. Sometimes I have to be dragged for a jog. It ‘s nice to have a comment somewhere that it’ s believed to get out of here.

Saturday’s message victory was brought by the Vuokatti Ski Team Kainuu team’s 3×5-kilometer race victory. The other members of the gang were Jasmin Kähärä and Katri Lylynperä.

“It’s always nice to win, even though it wasn’t a nice spring to ski,” Nissinen said, referring to the windy and chilly weather and soft weather in the Northeast.
