Vilafranca lives a ‘dyad’ of Sant Fèlix with 6 extra range ‘castells’

Vilafranca del Penedès this Tuesday the traditional ‘castellera day’ of Sant Fèlix, after not being able to celebrate in the last two years due to the pandemic, on a long-awaited day for the four groups invited this year and with the realization of six ‘castells ‘ of ‘extra range’.

The invited groups have been the Castellers de Vilafranca, the Colla Vella dels Xiquets Valls, the Colla Jove de Valls and the Minyons de Terrassa. The Castellers de Vilafranca opened the day with the 3 of 10 with ‘folre’ and ‘manilles’its great objective and that they did not load since Sant Fèlix in 2019 nor since Tots Sants of 2018.

The castle has gone up to the first, but as the nerves progressed, especially at the top of the construction, they have become more evident, and they have loaded it almost in extremis.

In the second round, the Castellers de Vilafranca have completed the 5 of 9 with ‘folre’the second of the season, and, as the third ‘castell’ they have loaded the tower of 9 with ‘folre’ and ‘manilles’ –which has yielded when it was almost empty- to finish with an imposing pillar of 8 with ‘folre’ and ‘manilles’.

Young Xiquets de Valls

After the Castellers de Vilafranca it was the turn of the Colla Joves Xiquets de Valls, who came out with the 3 of 9 with ‘folre’, somewhat more worked than the previous ones, but discharged with solvency, and in the second round the Joves has completed the first 5 of 9 with ‘folre’ of the season and, in the third round, its first 4 of 9 with ‘folre’. In the round of ‘pilars’, she loaded the first pillar of 8 with ‘folre’ and ‘manilles’ of the year.

The Colla Vella of the Xiquets de Valls have charged 2d9fm in the first round, which has yielded just when the smaller ones were going down because they were not clear about it. In the second round those from Valls have calmed down the spirits of the fall with the 3d9f to continue with another extra range: the 2d8sf, which they have loaded. Finally, the rosés have finished the dyad with the 4d9f and the pillar of 7 with ‘folre’.
