Another bad luck with injuries for the HSV women: Viktoria Schwalm tore the medial meniscus in her right knee in the game against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday. The Rothosen’s offensive player will be out for several months, the club announced.

In the 4-0 defeat against SGE, coach Liese Brancao’s team suffered another setback in addition to the loss of points. Attacker Viktoria Schwalm had to leave the pitch in pain shortly before the end of the game. Hamburg played the last few minutes outnumbered as the substitution contingent had already been exhausted.

Detailed examinations on Monday revealed that the 27-year-old suffered a tear to the medial meniscus in her right knee. Schwalm, who moved from Turbine Potsdam to the Elbe in the summer, will have surgery this week and will be out of action for the Rothosen for several months.

Hamburger SV will face Holstein Kiel in the northern duel in the round of 16 of the DFB Cup. This was the result of the draw on Sunday evening. The matches will take place on December 2nd and 3rd. The exact kick-off times will be announced later. The games at a glance:

The other dates in the DFB Cup: quarter-finals: February 3rd and 4th and February 10th and 11th, semi-finals: April 21st and 22nd, final: May 23rd in Berlin

Hamburger SV lost out in the duel between the Bundesliga promoted teams. The Hanseatic League lost 1:4 (0:1) to 1. FC Köln on Sunday afternoon. Ragnar Ache (24th) and Florian Kainz (48th) brought the “Effzeh” onto the winning path.

The HSV rebelled against the impending defeat. However, a goal by Fabio Vieira was disallowed due to a previous foul (50th). So initially it was only enough for Jean-Luc Dompé to score the next goal (61′).

Immanuel Pherai then had a particularly bitter day at work. The offensive player came on for Rayan Philippe in the 77th minute of the game. A minute later he was warned for a foul (78th), another 60 seconds later he slipped on the wet grass, caught his opponent Kristoffer Lund and was shown yellow-red (79th).

Fabio Vieira, who had already been warned, also received a traffic light card shortly afterwards for complaining (83′). Cologne doubled the lead: Said El Mala scored to make it 3-1 (90+4), Jakub Kaminski made the final score (90+9). Due to the defeat, HSV is still 13th in the table with eight points. Cologne, meanwhile, improved to sixth place with 14 points.
