With three wins in three games, the Bremerhaven team had a perfect week in the DEL. In Berlin they were extremely callous in front of the goal at the beginning.
The Berliners had more of the game in the first third, but the Pinguins were much more efficient in front of the goal than the reigning German champions. Ex-Berlin player Rayan Bettahar gave Bremerhaven a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute. Eisbären goalkeeper Jake Hildebrand only saw the puck very late and was no longer able to intervene decisively.
Before the first third break, Alexander Friesen followed up with a shot from distance (20th). Andy Miele almost scored to make it 3-0 straight afterwards. However, in dire need, Hildebrand was able to save (20th).
Miele provides a strong template for Krämmer
The Berliners put a lot of pressure on the Bremerhaven goal at the beginning of the second third, but Fischtown was able to prevent the goal with a strong defense. The Bremerhaven team also always put pinpricks on the offensive. During a two-minute penalty for Miha Verlic in the middle of the second period, the Eisbären were able to use their power play for the third time in the game. However, keeper Julius Huracek, who only joined the Pinguins this week, was able to defuse a shot from Andreas Eder in front of the goal line (32′).
Instead, Bremerhaven made it 3-0 in the 35th minute. After a strong transition, Miele made an exemplary cross for Nicolas Krämmer. He took advantage of the chance and shot the ball past Hildebrand into the goal. A little later, the Eisbären were able to defeat Huracek for the first time. Out of the fray, Blaine Byron poked the puck over the line (37′). Fischtown went into the break before the third period with a 3-1 lead.
Roßmy takes care of them Preliminary decision
After this, the Berliners wanted to quickly reduce the score to 2:3 to make things exciting again. Ty Ronning shot over the goal (44th) and Liam Kirk shot wide (45th). On the other hand, Miele had the chance to make it 4-1 in the 48th minute and thus make the preliminary decision. However, he hit the crossbar in front of Hildebrand.
Christian Wejse, on the other hand, was denied by the Berlin keeper (52′). Hildebrand was also able to save strongly against Miele (56th). Bennet Roßmy then made everything clear with his goal to make it 4-1 in the 57th minute. It was the third win in the third game for the Penguins this week. In total, they have now won four games in a row in the DEL.
