Viktor & Rolf: Major retrospective in Munich

The Kunsthalle Munich is showing a retrospective of the Dutch fashion house Viktor & Rolf.

The “Fashion Statements” exhibition opens on February 23 and celebrates the fashion house’s 30th anniversary, Viktor & Rolf announced on Thursday. This is curated by Thierry-Maxime Loriot, who has also been responsible for fashion exhibitions such as ‘Jean Paul Gaultier. From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk (2015)’, ‘Peter Lindbergh. From Fashion to Reality (2017)’ and ‘Thierry Mugler. Couturissime’ was responsible.

The new exhibition in the Munich museum is the first major retrospective of the Dutch designer duo Viktor&Rolf in Germany, according to the Kunsthalle Munich. Around 100 of the “boldest pieces” will be shown, some of which will be exhibited for the first time. There are also numerous videos, sketches and handmade porcelain dolls dressed in the designers’ creations. Photographs by artists such as Andreas Gursky and Cindy Sherman are also part of the exhibition.
