Viktor Brand gets an ice-cold shower from the viewer: ‘IJsmeesters is a flop’

Viktor Brand is completely sawn in half by TV-watching Netherlands. The premiere of his TV show IJsmeesters was massively ignored last night. “This is a huge dip.”

Most people know him as the man who hangs around Frank Visser all the time: Viktor Brand. Apparently, in addition to this program with crazies who fight each other out of the tent, he is also allowed to do something else now and then. This is how he started yesterday with a new season of ‘IJsmeesters: a piece of cake’. Unfortunately for Viktor, scoring viewers on SBS 6 is no easy feat.

Losing Viktor

The premiere of Viktor’s program IJsmeesters yesterday at half past eight only had 272 thousand viewers on the tube, good for less than 5 percent market share. Immediately before, vtwonen attracted 476 thousand viewers (10 percent) and immediately afterwards Stegeman on the Bres attracted 641 thousand viewers (14 percent). Those are much higher numbers.

Tina Nijkamp, viewing figure oracle and former channel boss of SBS 6, calls Viktor ‘the big loser’ of the evening. It just hurts her vicariously. “Ow,” she exclaims to her analysis channel. “The program also causes a huge dip in programming.”

Terrible morning

Like no other, Tina knows what it’s like to see these kinds of ratings. “Terrible viewing figures morning this morning (and also for the next three weeks I’m afraid) for Viktor, the team and SBS 6.”

A bit of what happens to a different SBS 6 colleague every morning. What did people watch yesterday? NPO 1’s De Nieuwe Vermeer (1.2 million and 21 percent), NPO 3’s Reizen Waes (1.1 million and 18 percent) and NPO 1’s De Stamhouder (1 million and 24 percent).

The Floor takes million

The Edson da Graça show The Floor also just exceeded the million mark on RTL 4. He is two thousand viewers above, good for 17 percent market share.

It is especially the high score of Reizen Waes that Tina stands out. “Over 1 million (!) viewers in total, which is very rare for NPO 3. And to think that this program only cost a maximum of about 10,000 euros because it is a ‘purchase’ from Belgium. Tom Waes is therefore the absolute viewing figure winner of the day.”
