The NFL’s Minnesota Vikings have signed offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell from Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams as their new head coach. The club announced this on Wednesday.
“We’re over the moon,” said Vikings owner Mark Wilf. “He’s a strong leader, an innovative coach and an excellent communicator,” said Wilf.
O’Connell, 36, succeeds Mike Zimmer, who was fired last month after eight seasons in Minnesota. The Vikings have missed the playoffs twice in a row. For O’Connell it is the first station as head coach.
