Hollywood has been excited about sequels for decades, but especially in the last ten years, the craze for them has grown to such great proportions that a Hollywood movie as a concept is mostly just an echo of movies already seen. By this I’m not implying that a lot of mainstream movies are the same, although they are. Quite a few original and new ideas are made, because the producers want the product to be already familiar to the viewers.
