An internship is a special experience, especially if it also happens in an exotic country! In the series ‘Interns’, five young adults go to Curaçao to do an internship. And that includes a fellow townsman: Demi from Zoetermeer.

According to KRO-NCRV, the six-part series shows how Demi deals with the new environment and the internship problems. But our fellow townsman is not the only one who had a tough time at times! Chaima, Bart, Ralph and Wiktoria also soon discover that the island is much more than just sun, sea and sand.
From Sugar Fest to homesickness
The five young people all do a different internship, with associated challenges. For example, Wiktoria’s (24) internship company turns out not to be as expected and she decides to move to a new place, Demi (19) is doing an internship with the navy on Curaçao, Chaima (20) celebrates the Eid without her family for the first time, Bart (19) is having a hard time saying goodbye to the home front and he discovers the LGBTI+ community on the island. The sudden independence means that the trainees have to grow up in a short time.
