Judges William Rutten and Gaby Herbstein did not see the beauty in it. Viewers clearly disagree.

‘The perfect picture in Argentina’
Eight well-known Dutch people with a passion for photography will once again compete with each other. In this special edition, the participants travel with presenter Tijl Beckand and William Rutten to Argentina to complete the most impressive assignments.
A bargain for Jochem
The seven remaining candidates will receive two new assignments this episode. For example, they first have to shoot a macro photo of a product that you can buy on the market. Jochem van Gelder opts for the pomegranate and decides to take a picture of the special stem of the fruit. On the pomegranate is a kind of hole from which a pistil grows. “This is almost a fairytale scene”, says Jochem. He is therefore overjoyed with his photo: “This is just a bargain.” Jochem is so confident about his ‘perfect picture’ that he says just before the result: “Let it come that 8, or that 9.”
ET’s anus
The beautiful close-up photo where you can count the tiny hairs and twigs amazes all the other candidates. The viewers are also impressed. It only evoked a special association among the jury. “What is this? It looks like an anus. It looks like ET’s anus,” laughs jury member and photographer William Rutten. “It’s very interesting, but I have no idea what I’m looking at.” At least he doesn’t get hungry. Fellow judge Gaby Herbstein isn’t thrilled either: “I can’t see what’s great about it.”
stunned
Jochem is visibly stunned when he is repeatedly skipped by the results. When he is one of the last to be told that he only gets a 6.7, he doesn’t know where to look for it. He is disappointed, but relieved that he does not have to leave the program yet. Renée Soutendijk is the one with the lowest figures this week.
Disagree with the jury
Viewers at home understand Jochem’s disappointment. They also thought it was a very beautiful, special photo. They therefore disagree with the jury. ‘And Jochem’s is not good? What a strange jury…’, one viewer wrote. Another responds with: ‘Why so bad Jochem? Nowhere was it said to make you hungry.’
You can watch the whole episode look back here† The photo of Jochem can be seen from minute 23.24.
Winner of this shoot, agree. The rest don’t, one with an idea from Tijl, the other no real macro…but yes, of course I’m not an expert ? #theperfectpicture

Photography is a form of perception after all.
I so often disagree with the jury’s comments.
