In The Passion Ascension shows how the story continues after the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. With this edition, the makers want to raise awareness of the Ascension story.
Return of Jesus
Viewers were able to see how Soy Kroon returned as Jesus and how he was able to restore hope and faith to his followers, who were in sackcloth and ashes after the crucifixion.
Mary Magdalene
In addition, there was a larger role for Kim-Lian van der Meij as Maria Magdalena in this sequel. She is the first to discover that the tomb of Jesus was empty and has the first contact with him after his crucifixion.

Ruud de Wild returned as narrator and in this edition there were guest roles for RTL Boulevard-reporter Aran Bade, presenter Irene Moors and Hunters-team Thijs Wattimena and Marcel van de Ven.

There is praise for Kim-Lian, Noortje, Soy and also for Ruud de Wild. In his role as narrator, the latter raises the subject of emancipation and feminism, which is also well received by the viewers.
