Video shows fan attack at square storm in Manchester

With the final whistle against Aston Villa, many Manchester City fans rushed onto the pitch to celebrate with their players. But some behaved completely wrong.

After winning the Premier League by beating Aston Villa 3-2, football champions Manchester City apologized to the opposing team on Sunday for the behavior of their fans. When there was a storm after the final whistle, supporters of the “Skyblues” allegedly attacked Villa goalkeeper Robin Olsen. A video from Sky shows the incident:

“Manchester City would like to sincerely apologize to Robin Olsen,” the official statement said. “The club have launched an immediate investigation and will issue an indefinite stadium ban on the person responsible once identified.”

Aston Villa initially did not comment on the incident. Coached by Liverpool icon Steve Gerrard, the team led 2-0 at Man City before City turned the game around to secure their fourth league title in five years.
