Mirtha Legrand He attended a performance of the musical “Come from away” with his great-grandchildren, in which the 100 years of the Maipo Theater were also celebrated. As is customary every time “La Chiqui” makes a public appearance in a show, she was applauded by the cast of the work and by the entire public present.
“They have given us a magnificent night of theater”, Mirtha congratulated the company. The driver was entertained by Carla Calabreseproducer and director of “Come from away” and owner of the Maipo Theater, with a bouquet of flowers and a special gift: a plaque bearing her name in box 8.
The first weekend of September, Mirtha Legrand will once again conduct her historic dinners and lunches on Channel 13. The return was possible after great negotiations between Adrian Suar Y Nacho Viale.
“I gave my life to this profession so that the problem today is money” the host had said, casually, during the premiere of another play: “Piaf”, which was recently re-released. The “mesazas” she will compete on Saturday nights with “Podemos Hablar” on Telefé and on Sundays at noon with “La Peña del Morfi”.
It is not just a matter of rating and money, the host remarked: after the Covid 19 pandemic, Mirtha Legrand wants to go back to work, as she expressed in the delivery of the Martín Fierro.
Last week, LAM, a program hosted by Angel of Brito, showed some private audios between the grandmother and her granddaughter where Marcela Tinayre’s daughter asked the legendary host if they were coming back: “What are we going to do? Are we going to come back with the program? Are we not going to come back? Saturdays… me on Sundays? What do you think?” To which Legrand said “Hello Juani… I’ll be back, we’ll be back!”.
And recently, Mirtha surprised the public with a special video she recorded for HBO to promote the premiere of “House of Dragon”; the long-awaited prequel to “Game of Thrones” that premiered last Sunday.
In the video, Mirtha is sitting at a medieval banquet table, and speaks as if the series were about the history of her dynasty. “How they see you they treat you, if they see you badly they mistreat you, and if they see you well they want to steal your throne”, the diva closed with humor.
