The president of Uruguay, Luis Lacalle Poucame to Punta del Este along with his family on a vacation plan. The eastern president took advantage of the break to tour the streets and landscapes of the exclusive spa city. For this reason, many tourists and residents of the area were surprised to find him alone on his motorcycle.
And a passerby recorded him putting on his helmet while being greeted by people who were nearby. Without guards around him, the president took selfies and talked with people who approached with a certain amazement.
According to the local media FM Gente, responsible for sharing the video, on Tuesday at noon, Lacalle Pou embarked on the family yacht Mailhos. He then returned to the port of Punta del Este in search of his high-displacement motorcycle that he had left parked there. “How good it is,” was the compliment that some people offered to the vehicle that was being started by the leader of the National Party.
The president’s tastes for motorcycles and surfing are well known. In October last year, he was recorded while taking a motorcycle driving test to renew his license. And in 2022, Lacalle Pou was also caught surfing on the beach The Boats of La Paloma, in the Rocha area. The surf photographer Luis Pereira Costa (@fotosurfuy) had gone to that beach to photograph the surfers and recorded the president at that precise moment.
The leader has a summer house near there, in The Serena, another beach in the La Paloma resort. According to local media, Luis Lacalle Pou has been surfing since he was a child, starting in the 1980s in Florianópolis and continuing in Punta del Este. Even in 1998, when he graduated as a lawyer, he was seen celebrating his achievement on the beaches of Hawaii and Costa Rica with the board under his arm.
