There have been no known casualties when an apartment building in the city was hit by a rocket. Images are circulating on social media of the affected building and the place where the rocket hit. The building has more than twenty floors.
A Reuters correspondent reported that a total of two rockets landed on Saturday morning in the Ukrainian capital, both in the southwest.
The battle for Kiev started at night. Local authorities warn of fighting in the streets in the morning and urge residents to remain calm and cautious. “When you’re at home, don’t go to the window, don’t go to the balconies.” Many residents have spent the night in bunkers, cellars and other underground shelters.
