The players of both teams were themselves afraid of the reptile and did not dare to take action. A grass master tried to catch the snake, but it didn’t feel like cooperating. So the police were called in to remove the snake.
The officers, however, turned out not to be very adept at this either and tried to crush the snake violently with their shields. When the animal was finally trapped, a volunteer grabbed the snake behind its head, after which it could be carried safely off the field.
