Hamburger SV is one of the largest clubs in Germany. The news ticker on t-online contains all the important reports about the “Rothosen”.

Hamburger SV clearly won a friendly against Dutch club FC Groningen. The Hanseatic League prevailed against the sixth-placed team in the honorary division with 6:3 (3:0).

Before the break, Emir Sahiti, Immanuel Pherai and Bakery Jatta scored for HSV. After the break, the Bundesliga team was a little more careless in defense, so the Dutch had three meetings. However, the HSV victory was not in danger. Again Sahiti, Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer and Guilherme Ramos scored the other goals for the hosts.

After the international break, Hamburg continues in the Bundesliga with an away game at FC Augsburg.

The former goalkeeper of Hamburger SV, Martin Pieckenhagen, will in future be in charge of the affairs of the regional league team Kickers Offenbach as the new sports director. The 53-year-old will succeed the dismissed Christian Hock from November 21st, as the Hessians announced.

“I’m really looking forward to my job at the Kickers and am grateful for the trust the club has placed in me. The OFC is a traditional club with passionate fans and great potential that needs to finally be awakened,” said Pieckenhagen about his new job.

The former goalkeeper brings a lot of experience. Between 2001 and 2005 he played more than 100 games for HSV. During his active career he also played for MSV Duisburg, Hansa Rostock and FSV Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga and for five years with the Dutch first division club Heracles Almelo, for whom he made 167 appearances. As an official, he worked as sports director at his former club Hansa Rostock from January 2019 to April 2023.

OFC President Joachim Wagner is hoping that Pieckenhagen will bring an upswing to the traditional club, which is only in 13th place in the Regionalliga Südwest after 16 match days. “His expertise and network are very valuable to us and we are convinced that he will significantly advance our sporting development,” said Wagner.

Former HSV professional Albin Ekdal has announced the end of his active professional career. According to consistent media reports, the midfielder’s season in Sweden is over. “There were a few tears,” the 36-year-old is quoted by “HBO Max.” “It’s hard to put it into words. It’s going to take me a long time to process this, but ultimately it all boils down to pride and joy in overcoming all the setbacks I’ve had.”
