The FC Bayern basketball team confirmed their upward trend in the Euroleague and clinched their fourth win in six games. Coach Andrea Trinchieri’s team beat the Israeli record champions Maccabi Tel Aviv 98:89 (50:44) on Friday evening (December 2nd, 2022).
Munich, who started the premier class season with five consecutive defeats, are still stuck in the bottom third of the table with four wins from eleven games.
The best thrower for the hosts, who were unlucky to lose at AS Monaco last week (79:80), was US guard Cassius Winston with 23 points.
A total of six players scored double digits for Bayern – with a strong team performance, the Munich team made up for the short-term absences of Vladimir Lucic and Niels Giffey. In addition, Augustine Rubit had to end the game early.
Bayern win rebound duel, Brown with 36 points at Maccabi
Bayern took the lead from the start and pulled away slightly before the break. After the break, the hosts were able to keep their lead – despite a strong performance by Lorenzo Brown, who scored 36 points for Maccabi. The Munich team kept control of the boards, got 34 rebounds and in the end ten more than Tel Aviv. Maccabi remains without a win away from home in this Euroleague season.
