Hamburg’s Eva Lys completes the field of German tennis players at the US Open in New York, which begins on Monday.
The 21-year-old won the third qualifying round on Saturday 6-2, 6-1 against the American McCartney Kessler and secured her place as the fifth German in the field of 128 participants.
Previously, Laura Siegemund (Metzingen) had also prevailed in the qualification. Thanks to their world ranking position, Tatjana Maria (Bal Saulgau), Anna-Lena Friedsam (Neuwied) and Tamara Korpatsch (Hamburg) will also be at the start of the Hard Court Grand Slam.
