Ninth game, eighth win – the German women’s national soccer team has qualified for the World Cup finals with a win against Turkey.
The team of national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg prevailed 3-0 (0-0) against Turkey on Saturday (September 3rd, 2022). Germany has thus secured a ticket for next year’s World Cup finals in Australia and New Zealand (July 20th to August 20th).
Germany struggled for a good hour against Turkey, then Felicitas Rauch (57th minute) scored the lead with a penalty. Less than 120 seconds later, Klara Bühl increased (59th). Lea Schüller scored in the closing stages just three minutes after being substituted on (77′).
