Alba Berlin has won a surprising away win in the basketball Euroleague. At the favorite Emporio Armani Milan, the Berliners won 80:74 (38:30, 70:70) after extra time on Friday evening and are still unbeaten after two games in European competition. The best Berlin throwers were Jaleen Smith and Tamir Blatt with 13 points each.
Milan kept coming back
The German champions started the game strongly and quickly found their offensive rhythm. They were also concentrated on the defensive and made it difficult for the Milanese. In the middle of the second quarter, the Berliners temporarily gained a 17-point lead (33:16), which, however, shrank to eight points at the break because the hosts increased their intensity.
In the third quarter, the Italians played even more aggressively and fought their way back into the game. Although Alba briefly led by double digits again in the final section, they then made many mistakes, which allowed Milan to come back again. With 70:70 it went into overtime, in which the Berliners then had the better nerves and secured the victory against the favorites with good tactical decisions on the floor.
