THEthe training journey of Princess Victoria of Sweden has taken a bold new flight: At 48, the future queen concluded her intensive training in the Swedish Air Force, marking an important milestone in her career and her path to the monarchy. The Royal Palace and the Swedish Armed Forces have shared, via social media, images of the princess aboard a Jas 39 Gripen fighter aircraftafter a series of exercises at the Norrbotten Air Wing in northern Sweden.

The princess was immortalized in pilot suit, with helmet and oxygen mask. A style very different from that of life in the palace. During the flight, Victoria of Sweden took part in one defense simulationwhere a group of four Swedish fighter planes had to protect the country’s bridges from an enemy air attack.

The future queen flew together with the commander of the 212th Fighter Division, who declared: «She was very focused and showed great commitment. She was impressed by the tactics and cooperation between the pilots. During the flight, he showed great attention to group dynamics and the effectiveness of the maneuvers.”

«It was an honor to be able to participate in such an exercise. I was struck by the precision and cooperation between the pilots. Seeing up close how these operations are managed has given me a new perspective on the work of the armed forces», said Victoria of Sweden after the flight. The princess added that she was particularly impressed by the power and capabilities of the fighter jet, an experience that made her even more aware of the crucial role that air defense plays in Sweden’s security.

An experience that marks an important stage in the future queen’s journey. After completing training with the Air Force, the princess will continue next year with a specialization in the Army. While waiting to take the throne, there is still a lot to learn.
