Victoria Koblenko gets a sneer from Wilfred Genee: ‘Always so serious’

Victoria Koblenko’s talk show talk does not exactly appeal to Wilfred Genee, the presenter of the most watched talk show in the Netherlands. “She is always so serious.”

Today Inside is head and shoulders the number 1 talk show in the Netherlands and that may partly be due to the guest list. Guests who talk at the table with the brakes on, are a bit too politically correct or a bit boring? They simply won’t be invited next time. But fortunately you always have Op1 or Renze.

Serious Victoria

We’ve seen less of her lately, but Victoria Koblenko is back with a vengeance. She was on Renze Klamer’s talk show again last week to chat a bit. VI presenter Wilfred Genee also saw a piece, but is not exactly inclined to send an invitation to this former soap actress.

Wilfred thinks it’s a shame that Renze keeps inviting such a guest. “They now had Victoria Koblenko again and she is always very serious, right? The world takes it very seriously,” he says in the column In The Walkways.

More humor

Gerard Joling completely agrees with that. “Yes, there needs to be a little more humor. I always really like Victoria, but that’s usually about Ukraine or Russian and now it was…”

Wilfred: “Yes, now it was about 426 hot spots in the world,” she started. Then I thought, oh, we’ve started. All delicious.”

Gerard: “Yes, I think that’s a bit of a shame, but hey, you know. You know this yourself: you are always in the show with your own people, René and Johan, but you are also sometimes dependent on your subjects and the guests.”

Out of the box

The talk show hosts of RTL also suffer from this, according to Geer. “That also applies to a Beau, a Humberto and a Renze. I think all three are fantastic and that is of course also because I have been their guest very often.”

Wilfred: “Wouldn’t it be something more out of the box allowed here and there? A little more outside the lines, a little less standard, so to speak.”

Gerard: “Yes, but we now live in a time where that is very difficult. Overall, I think there could be a little more humor in it. Nice and relaxed.”
