The label was founded in 2008 by Victoria Beckham herself. First, the label launched a small collection of minimalist designs for women. Right from the start, the label was praised by fashion critics for its distinctive design language.

In 2013, the brand launched an e-commerce website and opened a flagship store in London. In the same year, the label doubled its sales and generated more than £30 million. Despite the label’s overall meaningful positioning in the fashion industry and its recognition among fashion critics, Victoria Beckham has faced some challenges in the past – sales and profits have been low given the label’s reach and general recognition. On the creative level, the company has been praised from the start for its clear design approach and the associated reduced silhouettes with a feminine touch. Over the years, the clothing collection has been expanded to include accessories, shoes and glasses.

In 2017, the private investment company Neo Investment Partners funded the label with £30 million and received shares in the company in return. In 2018 the management was renewed and the former President of the French Federation de la Haute Couture et de la Mode Ralph Toledano was appointed Chairman. The management has also been filled with a new candidate: Marie Leblanc de Reynies, who was previously lead buyer at the French department store Printemps. With the change in management, the brand hoped for a change of course in terms of numbers. Despite the restructuring, the company announced debt of £53.9 million in September 2022.

Current

In 2019, Victoria Beckham launched a cosmetics line, followed by a bodywear line in spring 2022. In September 2022, the label also made its Paris runway debut.
