The aggressive man who assaulted a grocery delivery woman in Etten-Leur on Saturday morning may have come from the same neighborhood where the delivery woman delivered the groceries. A witness thought he recognized him as a local resident. The man appeared out of nowhere, threw groceries and kneed the delivery woman. The police could only arrest him by using force themselves.
The peace at the Havik in Etten-Leur was half past seven on Saturday morning rudely disturbed. Plastic boxes and other items flew through the air. Local resident Victor drove by at that moment and waved at the attacker. “I thought this was the delivery person and that he was holding the door of the van closed so that I could drive past. I was surprised at the food that was already on the road and the noise with which the boxes were being moved.”
To flee
The delivery lady who had just delivered ordered items rushed to the bus and tried to get the man out. That turned out differently. She was verbally abused, knee-jerked and had her hair pulled. The delivery lady fled inside the customer where she had just delivered the order.
Hiding also did not go according to plan. The resident wanted to lower the shutters, but they were destroyed by the aggressive man. Meanwhile, the police had been alerted. Officers also had to use force to restrain and arrest the man.
Passerby Victor saw the spectacle from a distance and is still astonished a day later. “It is a quiet neighborhood here, it was a quiet morning and then you suddenly see police coming from all corners. The aggressive man also seemed confused and looked unkempt. I have never seen him before.”
Local resident
The aggressive man is said to live in the neighborhood. A local resident thinks he recognizes him but doesn’t want to say too much about it. “I am very shocked by his aggressive, unpredictable behavior. I am not looking forward to him coming to me soon to seek redress.”
